Black Seal No More
With all the surf and scuba inspired looks in fashion right now, I wanted to post some REAL stylish surf gear for us girls who like to play in the water.
Seea from California makes retro cut swimwear and playsuits in modern patterns and colours. They have some gorgeous one-pieces perfect for just swimming. I pretty much never surf with just a bikini because a.) it’ll fling off if I wipe b.) I would get burned and c.) surf rashes are nasty. Seea’s playsuits which are a perfect alternative to just boring old rashie.
Billabong is stepping up its style game after seeing Roxy’s success with its wetsuits designed by Cynthia Rowley and longboarder goddess/photographer Kassia Meador. The vests, jackets and one pieces from its Surf Capsule are sexy and practical: not something you can say about wetsuit gear often!
Unfortunately, these suits are too thin to don for our summer frigid waters in Tofino but I would love to pack one or two in my case for surf travels.

[...] but I’m slowly warming up to the idea. Since I wasn’t able to snag one of these cute playsuits for my upcoming Hawaii trip, I am considering a little more coverage to avoid nasty surfboard [...]

I’m loving the colour-blocked suit second to the bottom! This reminds me of when I used to swim competitively – we never had any real selection, then all of a sudden one brand decided to up their style game and then all followed suit. Now I feel stylish when I do the odd training swim haha. Maybe if I get really pro once I’m in Maui I’ll invest in one of these bad boys! Hope you’re having an amazing week so far Liv!
