Getting Festive
Posted by A Beautiful Life on 12/04/2011 · 7 Comments
Christmas has arrived in a small dose at my house in the form of 2 tiny poinsettias and a micro cypress tree. Being the Grinch that my hubby is, this is likely the most festive as it’ll get in my home. Maybe I’ll sneak in and hang a stocking or two.

I’m a notorious plant killer so let’s hope these little guys last until Christmas Day.

To get in the festive mood, I checked out the German-styled outdoor Vancouver Christmas Market this weekend. I stuffed myself silly with bratwurst, sourkraut, and something called “Schnupfnudel”. It’s a German pasta made with cheese, bacon and more sourkraut. And a warm apple cider to wash it all down. The perfect lunch on a winter’s day. I picked up a large handwoven basket from Ghana and some bratwurst to go.

Are you feeling Christmas-y yet or will it hit you only a few days beforehand? If you’re like me and playing the Christmas tunes on repeat, I would love to know your faves.

Such a beautiful look, loving all the grey tones mixed together with different textures. Especially in love with that faux fur. And so funny, one of the reporters in my group actually covered the Granville Island winter market and said it was so much fun but came back stuffed too haha.
Hope your Monday’s off to a good start love!

I’m a festive procrastinator: I’m in a Christmas sort of mood but haven’t gotten around to hauling out the decorations yet. Maybe on the weekend?
I’m usually on top of the decorative-festive-ism, but this year it doesn’t seem to be the case. Like Lisa, I’ll pull myself together and have the decorations up this weekend. Maybe.
ooh I love, love your jacket! Sigh our place is so NOT festive but I am hoping a trip to IKEA on Saturday will inspire me!

Gorgeous outfit Liv! I like how it’s cute with the bow and flirty hemline, but those boots bring it all back for me.
Love your outfit, Liv! I’m totally a Christmas fan! I’m currently listening to some Bing Crosby, Otis Redding, Elvis (Blue Christmas) — I love the oldies but goodies. I’m trying She & Him’s Christmas album a chance, but so far it’s not my fav.
