In my perfect world, I would live in my all off-white clapboard cottage by the warm sea. I would wear white dresses everyday, or as much as the weather permitted (even warm places have moody days).
Nothing says summer more than a simple white dress. Cropped, swingy, maxi, clingy, off-the-shoulder, capped sleeves, lace, crochet, cotton – they’re all equally wonderful. A few of my favourites from Shopbop below.
Halston Heritage Kimono Wrap Gown.
70’s inspired lace and bell sleeves mini by Foley and Corinna. I’ve been searching eBay for something like this forever.
Perfect mid-length for lawn parties featuring boules and finger sandwiches. Tibi eyelet dress.
Sweeping, beachy and slightly dramatic gown from Notte by Marchesa.
Girly eyelet meets sexy bustier top. Also by Tibi.
I’m especially in love with this Notte by Marchesa Column One Shoulder Gown because the oversized flower reminds me a little of my own wedding dress. The ruffled mini below, also a Notte by Marchesa, reminds me of the bottom part of my mermaid shaped wedding dress.
Speaking of white wedding dresses, of course I loved Kate’s. Not so secretly though, I liked Pippa’s more. And maybe that’s why I love white dresses so much – a symbol of innocence, romance, and simplicity.
