Eastsiders
Ilse Jacobsen wellies, black and white checkered trousers, army green jacket from Urban Outfitters, Clubmaster Rayban Wayfarers.
English country meets urban grit. I was really glad when our photographer Joey Armstrong suggested Railtown for Nala’s photos. I knew I wanted something different compared to the usual cutesy puppy-in-a-park photos, and Joey gave us just that.
We started out at Crab Park which is a popular dog park that overlooks the water and mountains. It is on a sketchy side of town, so I was extra careful Nala didn’t pick up anything gross with her mouth. Nala was a little crazy at first so Joey was able to get quite a few funny action shots.
The smell of fish on the docks made Nala run like wild.
Not on her best behaviour here.

A moment of stillness.

After the park, we ventured east and slipped in behind some alleys next to the rail tracks. Textured, coloured walls provided perfect backdrops. I was a little afraid though, of the rickety wooden platform we were all standing on in the featured picture (top first image).
Classic Hunter green wellies and blue-green plaid Shedrow blanket.

4 for 4 months old.
A classic sign of a Rhodesian Ridgeback – her ridge of course! It’s just hair that grows backwards compared to the rest of her body.
And finally, my litttle lion dog begging for treats. A very common pose.
I want to thank Joey again for these wonderful pictures; we had a lot of fun that day! To see more of Joey’s work, visit her Flickr page. She also blogs about yummy food at My Food Obsessions where you can really eat with your eyes.

Just a quick note too that my blogroll isn’t displaying properly for some reason at the moment. It has cut off anything titled after the letter “O”. I’ll be working to fix this so please don’t be alarmed if your blog is currently missing from it.

[...] meet nala. a beautiful rhodesian ridgeback. i got to take some photos of her + her family back in january. she was just a pup/teenager then, she’s probably a beautiful lady dog by now. we played on the beach at crab park/portside park. explored the back alleys in railtown. the rain just barely held off for us. thankfully. liv + her hubby looked awesome, especially their wellies. and nala, of course, sported a beautiful plaid jacket when it started to get a bit chilly. liv writes a lifestyle blog over at a beautiful life. read her story (& see a few more photos!) of our photoshoot here. Awww! Your doggie is a model!! Such cute photos. I actually like the head wagging one the best b/c of the floppy ears. I just bought a dslr too, and I can’t wait to do shoots with my “muse” – Mr. Artist’s doggie!
J I didn’t know your man had a doggie!! i can’t wait to see.
Aw I love this photoshoot! It looks so natural and easy, I love your outfit by the way. Rainboots and tucked in jeans, so great.
Thanks for the comments too! I haven’t gotten a hang of planting succulents either, but I think I’ll try it out this Spring.

Aww super cute photos of Nala, Liv! She looks adorable! Such a carefree pup, as she should be
I absolutely love her green plaid coat, like owner, like pup
Also love the composition of the first photo. I can’t believe she’s only 4 months! Is it bad of me to ask about your jacket when this post is supposed to be focused on Nala? lol
Thanks Nicole she’s already grown out of the green plaid coat!!
Re Jacket – not bad at all! it’s Urban Outfitters =)
